NEW YORK--Penton Medias Truck Blue Book®, a leading provider of commercial vehicle identification and valuation information, has named General GMC, Inc., Mettuen, Mass. as its 2007 OEM Dealer of the Year and The House of Trucks, Willowbrook, Ill. as the 2007 Independent Dealer of the Year. The awards were presented at the 25th annual Truck Blue Book Conference in Las Vegas.

The Dealer of the Year awards recognize commercial truck dealers who have demonstrated sustained success and exceeded expectations regarding internal and external innovation, effective marketing, customer satisfaction, value-added services, investment in their employees and community involvement.

Tim Rock, president of General GMC, accepted the award on behalf of his company. He has been involved in the commercial truck industry since 1957 and helped General GMC become New Englands largest GMC truck dealer. Rock attributed the companys success to a commitment to the customer satisfaction that puts the customer first in all dealings, as well as used truck marketing efforts that supplement new sales and shop work.

General GMC invests in its employees with a variety of educational training programs focused on retaining employees and minimizing turnover. The dealership has been an active participant in local charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs, for twenty years.

The House of Trucks opened in 1985 and has grown into a leading used truck dealership in the Midwest. Jim Rys, president of The House of Trucks, credits the dealerships success to a commitment to customer satisfaction, saying we stand behind our products and have built a strong reputation for taking care of our customers for the long haul. Efforts include top quality preventative maintenance and repair services, as well as a customer payback program. The company provides value-added services to new and repeat customers through its MAC Trailer dealership, selling a range of waste equipment, and through exporting, truck painting and graphic services.

The House of Trucks donates time to charitable organizations such as Toys for Tots and Kids of Misericordia, which helps developmentally disabled children and adults, and by hosting an auction to raise money for Downs Syndrome.

In addition to Truck Blue Book, Penton's automotive and trucking product brand family includes American Trucker® and its Web site, www.trucker.com, Bulk Transporter®, Fleet Owner®, FleetSeek® directory/database products, Refrigerated Transporter, Trailer Body Builders®, Ward's AutoWorld®, Ward's Dealer Business®, Ward's Information Products and Ward's Auto Interiors Show and Conference, as well as a variety of industry-specific data services.
