Freescale Semiconductor Receives CIO 100 Award by CIO Magazine

AUSTIN, Texas--Freescale Semiconductor has been named a 2007 CIO 100 award recipient by IDGs CIO magazine. The 20th annual award program honors organizations around the world that distinguish themselves by creating business value through the effective and innovative use of information technology (IT). Freescale was recognized for a joint IT and Manufacturing initiative that is helping improve the companys manufacturing efficiency and increase gross margins.

Freescale believes that two key ingredients for creating operational excellence are our people and having world-class systems, said Sam Coursen, vice president and chief information officer of Freescale. This award validates the effective collaboration between Freescales IT and Manufacturing teams. The combined teams applied best-in-class information technologies and business processes that are helping to drive Freescale to benchmark manufacturing performance.

This years CIO 100 award recipients were selected by the CIO editorial team based on criteria including excellence in innovation and business value, followed by collaboration and leadership. The awards will be presented at the conclusion of the ninth annual CIO 100 Symposium® and Awards Ceremony, held at La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif., on August 21. In addition, several companies will be honored with a Plus One award announced for the first time at the awards ceremony.
