Putz, a resident of Earlville, Iowa, qualified in the No. 5 spot
and made his best run of the weekend in the semis when he took out top

249.86 mph to Whiteley's 5.648-second, 254.86 mph run. In the final Putz
beat Bluffdale, Utah's Cody Perkins. Perkins had qualified in the No. 2 spot

qualifier momentum into the winner's circle. In the semis Bateman defeated
Cy Chesterman, the division's reigning Top Alcohol Funny Car champ from
Sioux City, Iowa, with a 5.960-second, 241.02 mph pass to Chesterman's
6.011-second, 238.64 mph effort. In the final, Bateman faced off against
Kirk Williams of Glenwood, Iowa. Bateman's 5.964-second, 241.67 mph effort
was just enough to cover Williams' 5.978-second, 243.06 mph run.

Holloway took the win in Comp Eliminator, beating out Todd
Patterson of Augusta, Kan. Wagner, the winner in Super Gas, is a crew
member for local Pro Stock racer V. Gaines and was wheeling a car that
Gaines uses to burn in the tires for his Pro Stock ride. In the final
round, Wagner beat Mike Wiblishouser of Blair, Neb. Percival, earned the
win in Super Street, beating Grand Junction, Colo., racer Scott Allen.
Mustard took the win in Top Dragster, defeating Justin Lamb, Henderson,
Nev., in the final.
