NASCAR NEXTEL CUP DRIVERS COMPETING IN JUNE 23 AT&T 250 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES
RACE
AT THE MILWAUKEE MILE
MIILWAUKEE (June 13, 2007) - NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers will again be
facing the best of the NASCAR Busch Series regulars under the lights on
Saturday, June 23 in the AT&T 250 at The Milwaukee Mile.
Current NASCAR Busch Series point leader Carl Edwards, a full-time NEXTEL
Cup Series driver for Roush Fenway Racing in both the NEXTEL Cup and Busch
Series, has committed to compete. Edwards is having a stellar season in the
Bush Series, winning four races and finishing within the top-10 in 13 of 15
events thusfar.
The travel challenges facing Edwards and the four other full-time 'Cup
Series drivers has been a tested process, as this will be the third straight
year Edwards will be makin the roundtrip trek from Sonoma, Calif. to compete
in both NASCAR series on the same weekend.
Former sprint car champion Dave Blaney sits an impressive 3rd in NASCAR
Busch Series points racing for Braun Racing in a first-year Toyota Camry.
The Ohioan maintains a busy full-time schedule in both 'Cup and Busch
Series. He's currently 37th in NEXTEL Cup Series points driving for Bill
Davis Racing.
First-year NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver David Ragan and David Reutimann
will be making the double, competing full-time for Roush Fenway Racing and
Michael Waltrip Racing, respectively.
The 2006 AT&T 250 event runner-up at The Milwaukee Mile, Denny Hamlin, has
committed to race in the NASCAR Busch Series event at America's Legendary
Oval, due in part to his Joe Gibbs Racing team sponsorship with
Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation. Hamlin is currently third in 'Cup
points.
"The way the season is going for Carl Edwards, our fans could very well see
their first back flip after the AT&T 250," commented Craig Stoehr, Milwaukee
Mile Chairman. "The rich tradition of hosting the NASCAR Busch Series at
The Milwaukee Mile dates back to 1984. We look forward to hosting
Wisconsin's largest motorsports event under the lights on Saturday night,
June 23."
