Officials from the Grand American Road Racing Association and Sahlen’s announced today at Watkins Glen International that Sahlen’s will continue to be the official hot dog of Grand-Am through the end of 2009, following the recent signing of a three-year renewal.

Specializing in smokehouse meats since 1869, Sahlen’s has been involved with Grand-Am for several seasons in a multitude of sponsorship and other service opportunities. A corporate Grand-Am partner since 2004, Sahlen’s is the event sponsor of this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen and campaigns and sponsors three cars in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve GT division.

In addition, Sahlen’s Paddock Club provides hospitality for members and series drivers, teams and officials through freshly prepared meals – featuring Sahlen’s meat products – during most of the Rolex Sports Car Series race weekends.

“We are proud to continue our involvement with Grand-Am as an official partner,” said Joe Sahlen, President of Sahlen’s and a co-driver in the GT class. “We are known throughout the Northeast, but our involvement with Grand-Am allows us to grow our product nationwide. We look forward to strengthening our participation and partnership with Grand-Am for many years to come.”

“We are delighted to retain Sahlen’s as an official partner of Grand-Am,” added Grand-Am President Roger Edmondson. “The Sahlen’s Paddock Club at each track provides the Grand-Am community the chance to convene and spend time together during our busy race weekends. The Sahlen’s name adds instant credibility, and we are happy that they are involved in so many aspects of Grand-Am.”
