Randy Pobst, of Gainesville, Ga., rebounded from a disappointing Lime Rock weekend over Memorial Day Weekend to take the pole position for Saturday's SCCA SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Round Four race, part of the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen Weekend at Watkins Glen International. James Sofronas, of Newport Beach, Calif., will start second in the first race of a doubleheader weekend. Driving the No. 73 Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development Mazda 6, Pobst ran a fastest time of 2:05.459 (97.561 mph) around the 3.4-mile, 11-turn road course-breaking the old track record, set in the series' last appearance in 1998, by nearly seven seconds. "It's good to be back [on the pole] for Tri-Point Motorsports and my car chief," Pobst said.
