Karting, Supermoto Come to Sonoma This Weekend

WHAT:                        

More than 30 of the best Supermoto riders in the West and 100 of the
nation's best shifter kart racers will invade Infineon Raceway for the
3nd annual KartSport Grand Prix/Supermoto USA Invitational, presented by
Jim Russell Racing Schools. This event, which is hosted by KartSport
Magazine, boasts a $19,000 purse - one of the largest in the action
sports industry.

 

WHEN:                         

Sunday, June 10.

 

WHERE:             

Infineon Raceway Karting Center, Highways 37 and 121, Sonoma, Calif.
95476.

  

ENTRIES:                      

More than 30 motorcycle riders and 100 kart racers will compete on the
16-turn, three-quarter mile karting track.

CLASSES:         

Pro ICC: Six-speed, 125cc shifter karts capable of reaching 110 mph;
Supermoto USA: dual purpose motorcycles for dirt/pavement racing; Stock
Moto: 125cc Honda motorcycle engines; TAG Pro: Electric-start 125cc race
karts capable of reaching 100 mph; G1: 35+ years old shifter kart
racers.

 

SUNDAY SCHEDULE:                

Gates open, 8 a.m.; Heat races (six laps each), 8:45 a.m.; Stock Moto
Final (17 laps), 1:30 p.m.; G1 Final (17 laps), 2 p.m.; TAG Pro Final
(17 laps), 2:30 p.m.; Pro ICC Final (20 laps), 3:15 p.m.; Supermoto USA
Invitational Final, 3:45 p.m.

 

PURSE:                         

$19,000. 

 

TICKETS:

Tickets are available at the gate for $12.
