NHRA (TOPEKA) - WHITE CLAIMS TOP POSITION AT HEARTLAND
Gary White claimed his first career No. 1 qualifier at the third annual NHRA Sport Compact Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka.
White drove his Titan Motorsports Toyota Celica to the top position by running 6.55 seconds at 213.13 mph in the final round of qualifying. He was able to take advantage of the early evening temperatures to out-run his teammate Brad Personett. If White is able to back up these numbers he will set both ends of the national record.
On Friday, Personett ran a speed of 211.30 mph , which was backed-up with his first run Saturday, for a new national record.
