ORLANDO, FL - May 31, 2007: Jeanette Gamba, chairman of Jordan Associates Oklahoma, was elected chairman of the AAA Board of Directors at the 104th AAA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, the first woman to hold the distinguished post. AAA is North Americas largest paid membership organization with more than 50 million members.

Nearly 250 delegates and club officials, representing the federation's 60 affiliated clubs in the United States and Canada elected the former vice chairman of the national AAA Board of Directors during the two-day meeting for the 50 million member, not-for-profit federation held in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Gamba is Chairman of the Board of Jordan Associates, an Oklahoma City based communications agency specializing in advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing, research, interactive marketing and public relations. She served as president and CEO of the firm from 1984 through 2006.

The Oklahoma City Advertising Club named Gamba Ad Person of the Year, and the Oklahoma City Chapter of Women in Communications named her recipient of its Byliners Award for Communications. She was presented the Journal Records Corporate Woman of the Year Award and received the National Management Associations Manager of the Year Award for Oklahoma.

AAA has a rich history in advocacy and service to its members. Placing an emphasis on greater exposure for the associations benefits and value is a natural extension of the strategic vision currently in place, said Gamba. This is a unique time in the organizations growth when we can enhance the power of the brand and reinforce the relevance of AAAs offerings.

Gamba brings an extensive business and strong communications background to her role as chairman. She was the 1997 chairman of the board of The State Chamber of Oklahoma and the 1999 chairman of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable. She is a past chairman of the Oklahoma Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

The newly elected chairman also serves on several corporate and civic boards. In 1989, she received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the National Association for Community Leadership. Gamba currently serves on the board of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma and is vice chairman of the board of AAA Oklahoma and AAA South Dakota. She also serves on the boards of the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation, and in 1990 became a member of the select international business womens group, The Committee of 200.

The Osage City, Kan., native began her career in communications as a writer and producer at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kan., and is a graduate of Kansas State University.

As North Americas largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides more than 50 million members with travel, insurance, financial, and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
