The growth of international brand vehicles selling in the United States is well known – it’s become a global business. To this one can now add the importance of the automotive service, repair and maintenance businesses sources that here-tofore were virtually unknown.

Autopromotec, the automotive service industry show just concluded in Bo-logna, Italy was visited by over 100,000 members of the automotive service in-dustry from 47 countries. These auto specialists were there to review everything needed – equipment, products, tools, machinery and services – for the auto re-pair, aftermarket service and tire industries. Literally, if it wasn’t there, one did not need it.

The Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), also known as Italian Trade Commission, is an Italian governmental agency entrusted with promoting trade, business opportunities and industrial co-operation between Italian and foreign companies. It operates through 100 branch offices in over 80 countries in the world.

Through its Chicago office ICE was able to help Autopromotec receive U.S. Trade Fair Certification of the Autopromotec exhibit and played a key role in recruiting attendance. This is a very important achievement, since the Certifica-tion Program selects overseas trade shows offering the best marketing venue to U.S. exhibitors.

Moreover, the U.S. Trade Fair Certification is also engaged in a very inci-sive marketing plan endorsed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and aiming at encouraging, supporting and making US participation in overseas trade shows successful. The U.S. Department of Commerce also offers its certified fairs a wide range of support services to boost their event.

Almost 50 U.S. companies, a 20% increase over the previous show exhib-ited at the biennial event. # # #
