Toledo Recap: For the second straight week, Dexter Bean was caught up in
late race misfortunate after being involved in a late-race incident at Toledo
Speedway while running in the top-10. The devastating incident forced Bean to a
17th place finish.
Iowa Return: Dexter Bean and his BlackJack Racing team are looking forward
to Iowa Speedway this weekend. Bean went into the ARCA record books last year
by claiming the fastest lap of the event in addition to leading the first
practice overall. In the race, Bean finished seventh after starting 19th, the
final car on the lead lap.
Thinking Ahead: The BlackJack Racing recently announced that Bean will
attempt to make his 2007 NASCAR Busch Series debut at the Milwaukee Mile in June.
He made his first start in the secondary series for the NASCAR Nextel Cup
Series at Memphis Motorsports Park (MMP) last October driving the No. 63
_JDRF.org_ (http://www.jdrf.org/) Ford Fusion.
Points Chase: With his frustrating finish at Toledo Speedway, Bean slipped
to fourth in the ARCA RE/MAX Series points heading into the second event held
at Iowa Speedway. Bean is 45 points behind third place competitor Bobby
Gerhart, 60 credits behind second place Justin Allgaier and 130 markers behind the
lead held by 2006 ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel.
Chassis Information: The BlackJack Racing team will unload this weekend the
same Chevrolet Monte Carlo the team brought to Iowa Speedway for its
inaugural debut in 2006. It is also the same car the team ran at Nashville
Superspeedway, Kansas Speedway and most recently Kentucky Speedway. The automobile has
collected finishes of ninth, 10th and 15th respectively this season.
Welcome Back: Five Star Telecom, a longtime racing supporter of BlackJack
Racing will step up and return as an associate sponsor this weekend at Toledo.
Since their beginning in 1973, FST (Five Star Telecom), a long-time supporter
of Bean’s racing career has become one of the largest interconnect companies
in the Upper Midwest, with multiple locations serving the tri-state area.
Sponsorship Search Continues: BlackJack Racing still has several openings on
their No. 6 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the seventh event on the ARCA RE/MAX
Series schedule. Immediate one race or long term sponsorship positions are
available. _Contact_ (mailto:david@mwt.net) the team today and be a part of the
action.
Come Meet Dexter: Dexter Bean and several of his colleagues will sign
autographs with the ARCA RE/MAX Series fans this Friday, June 1 at the Prairie
Meadows Racetrack and Casino from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
BlackJack Racing, Iowa Speedway Pre-Race Quotes:
Dexter Bean, driver of the No. 6 Five Star Telecom Chevrolet Monte Carlo:
On Toledo: “It was devastating. We didn’t need that finish. We were taken
out by a driver who showed over aggression and wasn’t on the lead lap. We can
do nothing about the finish but keep our head high and move forward.??
On Iowa Speedway: “I love Iowa Speedway. We had a chance to win that race
last year, but we came up a little short. I have a good feeling about Saturday
night’s race and I’m looking forward to putting our team back up front.??
On The Points Race: “We lost some ground at Toledo. We’re still early in
the season, but we cannot afford to have any more bad races. Hopefully these
last two events will be the worst luck we’ll have all season.??
On The Second Straight Race Being Televised: “It’s good for the ARCA
RE/MAX Series races to be live on television. As a team we’re trying to prove we
have all the right ingredients while also trying to gain the exposure to help
up secure a full-time sponsor. The next couple races are live on television
and that’s a bonus for all my family and friends back home at Wisconsin.??
