Inaugural Event: Tanner, a successful dirt late model driver from Pennsylvania will attempt to make his inaugural debut at the new Iowa Speedway on Saturday. Instead of unloading a Pontiac Grand Prix like they did at Toledo, the team will return to the Chevrolet bowtie for the second ever event held at the Newton, Iowa track. Rookie Year: 25-year old Billy Tanner will attempt to make his fourth ARS start in the only race held at Iowa Speedway this season. In addition to Toledo Speedway, Tanner also participated in the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series opener at Daytona International Speedway in a Ford prepared by longtime ARCA owner and former driver Bob Schacht. Tanner made his debut with SCR at Kentucky Speedway last month qualifying 24th and finishing 17. With 10 races left on his schedule, Tanner is utilizing this season to prepare himself for a full ARCA tour in 2008. Calling The Shots: Corrie Stott, a veteran crew chief in the NASCAR ranks will serve as both the owner and crew chief for Tanner’s bid this weekend. Stott has had success with ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Michael Faulk, whom together scored a top-ten finish at Talladega Superspeedway in 2006. About Billy Tanner A fourth generation driver, Billy Tanner IV, 25, hails from Newtown, PA. A veteran dirt specialist, Tanner won several events in 2006 including at Bridgeport and on his home track of New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, New Jersey.
