SANTOS TO DRIVE PEDREGON MIDGET AT PLYMOUTH;

PEDREGON TO DRIVE PENNINGTON FOCUS MIDGET

 

 

            Bobby Santos III of Franklin, Mass. will drive Cruz Pedregon's Midget in Wednesday night's USAC Regional racing program at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway. Pedregon will pilot a Ford Focus Midget for car owner Terry Pennington, whose son Jordan finished ninth in last year's USAC Kenyon Midget Series standings.

 

            Santos has a half-dozen USAC National feature victories to his credit, all recorded last year. They included the prestigious "Night Before the 500" Midget race in Indianapolis, Ind. and a victory on the famed Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin.

 

            Santos also established an all-time USAC National Midget track qualifying record of 139.553 mph at Iowa Speedway last year.

 

            Pedregon, who fields a USAC National Midget driven by Josh Wise, will be making his first USAC Ford Focus start in the "tripleheader" which also features the Regional and Kenyon Midgets. All three series have 30 lap features on tap at the 3/8-mile paved oval.

 

            Pedregon will also be available for autographs during a special autograph session for race fans attending the events.
