TCI Welcomes Dave Sebring to the Team press release
Below and attached is the latest on Dave Sebring joining the TCIR team.
Dave Sebring Named General Manager Of TCIR Automotive
Sebring's focus will be on new products to increase TCIR presence in street
performance
and racing arenas
Dave Sebring has been named General Manager of TCIR Automotive in Ashland,
MS, a division of the highly successful COMP Performance GroupT. The former
Marketing and Engineering Director for the Mr. Gasket Company, Sebring
brings a long history of advanced engineering and innovative marketing
skills to the TCIR brand. "Ron Coleman and Scooter Brothers [of the COMP
Performance GroupT] offered me the chance to be a part of the already
successful TCIR team to develop new products that exceed the consumer's
expectations," stated Sebring. "TCIR has a great name in performance, and
through the development of the new products we can greatly build on that
success."
A self taught engineer with significant hands-on racing experience, Sebring
served in the military until 1971 and then, with wife Mary, began his
performance industry career with the opening of his own speed shop in Kent,
Ohio, called Dave's Automotive and Speed. During that time,
Sebring gained hands-on experience by campaigning a series of drag race cars
that included everything from Super Stock to Alcohol Funny Cars. In 1981,
Sebring sold his speed shop and became a Regional Sales Manager for Manley
Performance Products. After nearly six years with Manley, Sebring decided to
venture out on his own again. "Because of my experience with racing, I knew
there was a huge demand for precision products," said Sebring. "To that end
I opened Victory Titanium Valves. I was challenged to increase the quality
of the current products available and felt that there was room for a
one-piece forged valve in the marketplace. The key was high quality."
In the early 90s, Sebring was approached by the new head of Mr. Gasket, Bob
Romanelli, who was looking to push the new product development of the
company. It was a perfect fit for Sebring, who started in engineering and
grew his involvement over the next 13 years, eventually becoming the
Marketing and Engineering Director for the company. In February 2007, he
changed jobs for the "last time," becoming the General Manager of TCIR
Automotive.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Dave to our operation," stated TCIR
Brand Manager Stanley Poff. "Dave understands racing products from both his
behind-the-wheel efforts and as a creator of innovative products at Mr.
Gasket. "We look forward to combining our efforts to further extend our lead
over our competition."
"I am excited about the potential for tremendous growth at TCIR," stated
Sebring. "We have some grand plans for the future and excellent personnel
who can help us reach our goals. This is the electronic age and we need to
be there with electronic-based components that work with today's
transmissions. Watch for TCIR to be a constant source for innovative
drivetrain component products."
