Praxair Provides Hydrogen For GM's Chevy Sequel
DANBURY, Conn.--Praxair, Inc. joined General Motors Corp today in making history by providing hydrogen for the Chevy Sequel, “the world’s most technologically advanced automobile.” The Chevy Sequel became the first fuel cell vehicle in the world to achieve 300 miles range without refueling, on public roads, in real-world conditions, while producing zero emissions. Praxair produced the hydrogen at its Niagara Falls facility using hydropower, a clean, renewable source of energy.
”This is a natural extension of our decade-long support of hydrogen fuel research and development and we are happy to have supported GM in achieving this milestone,” said Mark Harmata, vice president, energy and services business for Praxair’s North American Industrial Gases business unit.
Praxair, a leading hydrogen supplier, supports the fuel cell industry. By participating in key demonstration projects, Praxair provides its customers with reliable and cost-competitive hydrogen supply necessary to move this technology forward.
