The four class championship chases in the American Le Mans Series, including LMP1 and LMP2, resume this week at the Utah Grand Prix.

The championship leaders in the four classes of the 2007 American Le Mans Series rank among the elite drivers in its nine-year history. They virtually have rewritten the Series record book with 141 career victories, 233 podium finishes, 77 pole positions and 81 fast laps entering this weekend's Utah Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park.

LMP1 Dindo Capello: 45 starts, 25 wins, 37 top 3s, 9 pole positions, 4 fast laps. Allan McNish: 34 starts, 18 wins, 26 top 3s, 9 poles, 11 fast laps

LMP2 Timo Bernhard: 57 starts, 19 wins, 36 top 3s, 9 poles, 17 fast laps Romain Dumas: 35 starts, 13 wins, 25 top 3s, 11 poles, 9 fast laps

GT1 Olivier Beretta: 60 starts, 31 wins (all-time career record), 53 top 3s, 20 pole positions, 20 fast laps. Pole positions and fast laps are also all-time career records. Oliver Gavin: 47 starts, 22 wins, 40 top 3s, 12 poles, 15 fast laps.

GT2 Jaime Melo: 9 starts, 6 wins, 8 top 3s, 4 poles, 4 fast laps Mika Salo: 10 starts, 7 wins, 8 tops 3s, 3 poles, 1 fast lap.

Johnny O'Connell's name is sprinkled heavily throughout the American Le Mans Series record book.

JOHNNY IN THE (TOP) SPOT: The American Le Mans Series record book is sprinkled liberally with Johnny O'Connell's name. The Oakwood, Ga., resident ranks among the leaders in virtually every statistical category in Series history including career starts (first - 76), wins (third - 26), podium finishes (tie for first - 56), top-five finishes (first - 69) and top-10 finishes (first - 77).

O'Connell also is second in consecutive starts with 57, which is the longest active streak in the Series paddock. He and Jan Magnussen enter the Utah Grand Prix off a convincing GT1 victory last month at Houston.

"Running with Jan has been great," said O'Connell, who teamed with Magnussen in 1999 with the factory Panoz prototype program. "We've found our rhythm and are doing well. I'm very, very pleased with how things are going."

The next round of the American Le Mans Series is the Utah Grand Prix, set for 5:05 p.m. MT on Saturday, May 19 from Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City. CBS Sports will air the race at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 20. MotorsTV in Europe, SPEED Latin America and 7TV in Russia also will provide international coverage. American Le Mans Radio and IMSA's Live Timing and Scoring will be available at americanlemans.com.
