Networkcar Awarded Contract With State of Delaware
- Networkfleet(TM) Wireless Vehicle Management System Selected for 1800 Vehicles -
SAN DIEGO, May 10 -- Networkcar(R) announced today that it was awarded a contract by the State of Delaware Government Support Services to provide the Networkfleet(TM) wireless vehicle management system for 1800 vehicles operated by the Office of Fleet Services. Networkfleet collects and transmits data wirelessly from a vehicle's engine computer and from a global positioning system (GPS), allowing fleet managers to continually monitor vehicle diagnostics and location information.
The State of Delaware's Office of Fleet Services provides transportation services and operates a motor pool of vehicles for lease to state agencies. Fleet Services dispatches vehicles from more than 37 pickup sites and provides 24-hour roadside assistance.
"In competitive bidding, Networkfleet earned the award because of its technical capabilities in not only providing vehicle location, but also its automated odometer readings, diagnostic alerts, safety reports, and the ability to integrate with our fleet management software," said Terry Barton, Jr., fleet administrator for Fleet Services, Government Support Services for the State of Delaware. "We have already seen tremendous time savings from not having to manually check odometer readings to perform scheduled maintenance."
With Networkfleet, fleet managers simply log on to a secure web site to track vehicle location and diagnostics. Customers using Networkfleet receive instant notification when a vehicle has an engine problem so it can be repaired quickly. Real-time access to diagnostic information makes it easier for fleet managers to proactively fix vehicle problems before they escalate into larger issues.
"At Networkcar, we work closely with fleet customers to provide them with the information they need to streamline their fleet operations," said Keith Schneider, president of Networkcar. "We are happy to be recognized by the State of Delaware for Networkfleet's ability to improve fleet efficiency."
