For veteran Funny Car driver Gary Densham, Gateway International Raceway offers an opportunity to show NHRA Drag Racing fans and supporters just what a former high school shop teacher can do when its time to succeed.

"Success is measured by how you deal with challenges, Densham said. "Weve had our share of those this season and we've dealt with them with determination, fortitude and dignity. Put our team against the best in the sport and we'd be in the top five in points, no doubt about it."

Densham feels it takes more than money and personnel to make a winning team. It takes a deep, personal commitment and love of your job to bring total success.

"It's been proven that a team can't get a win by just throwing money at parts and people," Densham said. "It takes each member to do his part with every bit of his heart to get you to the winner's circle. That's exactly what we plan to do this weekend in St. Louis."

Densham and the entire Torco Racing Fuels / Racebricks Collectables team have the Chevy Impala Funny Car ready for the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals. Two rounds of qualifying are planned for both Friday and Saturday, with final eliminations set for Sunday
