Modine Gets Record North American Order For Airedale-Brand School HVAC Systems
RACINE, Wis.--Modine Manufacturing Company , a diversified leader in thermal management technology and solutions, announced today that its Airedale business unit has secured an order valued at more than $3 million to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for schools in New Jersey. This is the largest single order recorded in North America by Airedale during its 20-year history.
“The Airedale equipment was specified because it featured the latest technology and could be accommodated in the existing classrooms with minimal effect on the structure of the school buildings,” said Tom Cromwell, Managing Director for Modine’s Commercial Products Group. “The order is an indication of the strong global reputation the Airedale brand has built in the HVAC market.”
Airedale will supply 247 Classmate high-efficiency units to 12 elementary schools in Middletown Township, New Jersey. The order was secured by Aire Aqua, Airedale’s Northern New Jersey representative. Kirk Cawthorne, one of Airedale’s longest serving sales representatives, worked closely with both Professional Engineer Morris Johnson of Eatontown, New Jersey, and The Lucarelli Group, the construction manager, to finalize the design around the Airedale product. WLH of Metuchen, New Jersey, is the installing contractor.
The units feature industry-leading 13 SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) efficiency, fully non-HCFC R410A refrigerant, which is chlorine-free and won’t affect the earth’s ozone layer, two-stage compressor and variable-speed electronic motors. In addition, heat recovery is featured as well as humidity control, an important consideration because the schools are situated near the Atlantic Ocean.
