Cummins Filtration Honored with Engineering Merit Award from American Filtration & Separations Society

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Cummins Filtration, the leader in filtration, exhaust, coolant and chemical technology for all engine-powered systems, announced that the company has been chosen to receive the prestigious Engineering Merit Award from the American Filtration & Separations Society (AFS) for its innovative Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) System. The technologically advanced product removes harmful emissions from open crankcase breather systems and reduces oil drip, mist and fumes in engine compartment to promote a cleaner and safer environment.

We are honored to receive this meritorious award in recognition of the outstanding work of our research and development engineers in air system technology, said Cindy Moore, Vice President and General ManagerAir Technology Business Unit for Cummins Filtration. Our strong commitment to green products and environmental protection drove the design of the Fleetguard® CCV system, which is EPA-verified when used with Cummins Emission Solutions Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC). To ensure its high performance, we tested the CCV system in a real world environment with over 3 million miles of on-road validation. We are very proud to be recognized by the society for this product.

The award was presented at Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, at the AFS Awards Luncheon during the organizations 20th conference and exhibition, Moore said.

AFS is the premier organization in North America dedicated to research and development, problem solutions, and technology transfer in fluid-particle separation for the benefit of industrial processes, individual health and a clean environment. AFS conferences and events offer industry leaders an opportunity to meet and hear the newest information in filtration and separation technology. Over the past two years, over 300 organizations have sent representatives to AFS events.
