LOS ANGELES, April 19 -- Miles Automotive Group announced today a nationwide program to partner with college student organizations to jointly promote existing 100% all-electric vehicle technology as a critical means of reducing carbon emissions in the fight against global warming.

The "No Gas Required Campaign" encourages campus environmental groups to become ambassadors for all-electric vehicles, spreading the word that 100% zero-emissions cars not only hold promise for the future, they're here today.

"Several years ago, Miles Automotive Group set out to make a real change in our society by developing a line of safe, affordable 100% all-electric vehicles. We now want to share the same passion that drove our technology with the next generation of this nation's leaders," said Benjamin Texter, Miles Automotive head of education & advocacy.

In return for promoting all-electric vehicle technology, Miles will make its 100% emissions-free cars available for exhibition at expos organized by bona fide student "green" organizations. In addition, for every Miles Automotive vehicle acquired by a college or university fleet, Miles Automotive will give the partnering student organization a $500 grant to further promote other green efforts -- and other green products -- on campus.

"We recognize that we're not the only solution to this problem but together, we can make a real difference. We also know that students and faculty are dedicated to improving the environment. There is no easier way than to start greening one's own college campus by replacing gas-guzzling, carbon-spewing fleet vehicles with 100% zero-emission cars that are of course gas-free and also safe, practical and affordable," said Texter.

Currently, Miles Automotive offers a line of electric vehicles, starting under $15,000 -- the ZX40 and the ZX40S. Both offer a speed of 25 mph and a range of up to 70 miles between charges and far exceed the requirements of U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500. They can be recharged from any standard electrical outlet & are street legal on roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.

"Slow-speed vehicles are ideal for college campuses and even most college towns where high-speed vehicles aren't needed and even pose a safety threat," said Texter.

Miles Automotive Group already has placed their 100% electric, zero-emissions cars at leading universities such as Yale, Stanford, and the University of California, among others. Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo recently added nine (9) Miles ZX40S All-Electric vehicles to their campus fleet.
