Motor Press Guild to Hold Alternative Fuels Panel April 10

LOS ANGELES, April 9 -- The Motor Press Guild (MPG), America's largest professional automotive media association, will hold a panel-style luncheon on April 10 to discuss alternative fuel solutions. With gas prices on the rise, CAFE standards in the press and the President claiming that E85 is the answer, this timely MPG luncheon discussion will cover many of the different alternative fuel technologies offered today including fuel cell, E85, hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrids and diesel technology. Panelists including Dr. James R. Macias, manager of the U.S. Fuels Technology Group for Shell Global Solutions and Roland Hwang, Vehicles Policy Director of the Natural Resources Defense Council will address the regulatory issues around these various technologies, global solutions, the short and long-term issues surrounding these various technologies and the pros and cons of each solution.

The April meeting will provide attendees background on alternative fuel solutions as well as an update on many of the issues surrounding these technologies. Panel members will also offer a better understanding of the feasibility of different technologies and how they fit into current and future governmental regulations.
