*Line No. 4*
BAYTOWN, Texas (March 31, 2007) -- Jason Line, driver of one the two KB
Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiacs, was right when he said in
prerace comments that weather would play a big part in this weekend's
20th annual NHRA O'Reilly Spring Nationals.
While Line was talking about heat and humidity, it was an overnight
rain, many times torrential, that lasted periodically into the late
afternoon today that was the problem. It finally caused NHRA to cancel
all today's action.
"I hate that we didn't have the opportunity to go after that No. 1 spot
today," said Line. "Between (teammate) Greg (Anderson) and me, we had a
small, but nice, string going. We congratulate Jeg (Coughlin) on taking
the top spot. We struggled some with the track in this Summit Pontiac
this weekend and the extra runs would have come in handy. It is what it
is. It's the same for everybody. We'll just move forward to tomorrow."
Line (6.676 seconds) wound up in the No. 4 position after the two
sessions that were run and that will carry into eliminations tomorrow.
He will face the No. 13 qualifier, Kurt Johnson (6.709 seconds).
