Johnson Controls Signs Licensing Agreement with Federal-Mogul to Market Champion(R) Brand Batteries

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., and MILWAUKEE, March 29 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation and Johnson Controls Inc. have signed an agreement to market Federal-Mogul's famed Champion(R) brand in the lead-acid storage battery category. Johnson Controls, the world's leading automotive battery provider, will introduce in April a full line of Champion branded automotive, marine, commercial, utility and motorcycle batteries to automotive aftermarket.

Federal-Mogul's Champion brand and the red-and-black "bowtie" logo are icons within the automotive original equipment and replacement parts markets. Champion spark plugs, which have powered hundreds of racing champions in virtually every form of motor sport -- including 2007 Daytona 500 winner Kevin Harvick and five of the past six NASCAR Cup champions -- are celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2007. Champion is a leading brand owned by Federal- Mogul, a world-class supplier to the global automotive industry.
