Sloan Finishes Top Ten on Opening Night - Auto Club Late Model Race at Irwindale Speedway

Jimmy Sloan, 25, finished ninth at Saturday’s Auto Club Late Model Race at Irwindale Speedway.

Sloan, the past super stock champion, was pleased to have a top ten after a day of battling with a poor-handling car.

“We changed everything,” Sloan said. “Our crew worked really hard to get this car in good shape.”

Sloan qualified 14th early in the day and fell back to fifteen during the race, narrowly missing a wreck of the cars right in front of him. As the race went back to green, he made his way forward passing cars on the inside all the way to ninth.

“We’re happy to get a top ten right away,” said crew chief Tom McMicheal. “It gives us good momentum going forward this season.”

Sloan will race the Gee Whiz, PUS Late Model again this Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. .
