Krohn-Risi Sebring Notes

No. 61 Krohn-Risi Ferrari 430 GT Team Notes:
 12 Hours of Sebring, March 17, 2007

The No. 61 Krohn-Risi Ferrari 430 GT team started the 55th Annual 12 Hours of Sebring race from the fifth starting position in the GT2 class, 20th overall. Doing single stints initially, Nic Jönsson started the race before turning over the car to Colin Braun after an hour, at approximately 11:05 a.m. Braun then gave the wheel to Tracy Krohn at 12:08 p.m. Nearly an hour into his stint, Krohn got sideways in Turn 13 and was hit by the No. 44 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, causing damage to the Ferrari.

After the pit stop to change the front bumper, take on fuel, new tires and a driver change to Jönsson, it was determined the car needed to return to the pits to replace the radiator, producing a lengthy pit stop. The nearly one hour stop dropped the No. 61 Ferrari down about 30 laps. During the repair, the Krohn/Risi team made some additional adjustments which improved the car.

QUOTES:
TRACY KROHN:
“This stint was a lot better. The car felt a lot better after the incident I had earlier at (Turn) 13 because we made some improvements. We are using this as a rather long test session now. The car is better, much more drivable.

NIC JONSSON:
Unfortunately we had a mishap earlier, about 3-1/2 hours into the race when Tracy had a little bad luck to spin in Turn 13 and got hit by the 44 car. It was nobody’s fault. Tracy spun and the 44 car had nowhere to go. We got hit in the front. It crunched the radiator and we had to come in a repair that and it took almost an hour. We’re definitely many laps down right now but we did a big change on the car as well at the same time. The car is now tremendous. We’re actually running Top three or four pace right now, which is pretty much all we can ask for.

COLIN BRAUN:
Things are going well since we’ve been back out after the lengthy pit stop. The car is better. These Risi guys have all been doing this for quite a long time. I am trying to get as much experience as I can to be comfortable in the car like Jaime and Mika are in the 62 Ferrari. I’m learning every time I go out there, that’s for sure.
