FORD RACING NOTES AND QUOTES
Nicorette 300 (Busch)
Atlanta Motor Speedway
March 17, 2007

MATT KENSETH-17-Arby's Ford Fusion (Finished 9th) - YOU HAD A STRONG CAR. WAS THE FINISH JUST A CASE OF TIRE WEAR? "Yeah, we'd wear the right rears to the cords, and 10 laps at the end of the race - the tire wear kept getting worse as the race went on, which is unusual because it usually gets better - it was so bad that I just had to slow down at the end or it was going to come apart." DO YOU THINK TIRE WEAR WILL BE AN ISSUE TOMORROW? "I don't honestly know because it's a different tire than we're running on the Cup side and I don't know what the difference are, so I don't know if it will be better or worse. I have no idea."

CARL EDWARDS-60-Scotts Ford Fusion (Finished 4th) - "There was a little bit of trouble with the tires all day. They had a lot of grip and they fell apart, so we just had to go cautious. We ended up with a great finish. We had a great race with Kyle Busch, even though he got shuffled back; we had a lot of fun. The tires dictated the race today. You just had to go slow enough not to have a tire come apart and fast enough to run where you wanted to run. It's kind of wild. It adds a different dimension. It's kinda like running those old Silver Crown races where you have to save the tires." DO YOU EXPECT TIRE ISSUES TOMORROW? "I'm nervous about tomorrow. Our tires weren't holding up as well on the Cup car as they were on the Busch car today."

TODD KLUEVER-16-3M Ford Fusion (Finished 33rd) - WHAT HAPPENED? "We were trying to salvage a good finish for the 3M car. We had a pretty good car. We started off real tight and we were fighting hard to stay the Lucky Dog there and get a caution, and the 12 car didn't think that was necessary. It was only a matter of time, a couple of more laps and he was going to pass me because his tires were better, but I guess he didn't want to pass us, he just wanted to wreck us."

JON WOOD-47-Armor All Ford Fusion (Finished 36th) - WHAT HAPPENED? "There was a lapped car down on the bottom, so I moved up the track and I don't think that the car on the outside gave enough room and we got together going down the backstretch."

DAVID RAGAN-6-Discount Tire Ford Fusion (Finished 20th) - "It's a finish, and hopefully it helps us in the points a little bit. It's not what we want. We want to be in the top 10 and in contention for a win, but we'll take it and we'll learn on it and do better next time." DID YOU LEARN ANYTHING FOR TOMORROW? "Yeah. It seems like we were always racing somebody. I would have liked to have moved up a little and tried running the high side through one and two, or the high side through three and four, but I never got an opportunity to do that. But, there were a few changes that we did that will reflect on tomorrow. It's definitely not going to hurt me. The two cars are a little bit different, bit it's going to help a little bit." DID YOU HAVE ANY TIRE ISSUES TODAY? "Not really. We were real conservative, maybe a little too conservative on our tires. We felt like we could keep on rolling, but we just never had the speed that we wanted. It handled average, but it was a decent day for the Discount Tire Ford, and we'll take it and get some points and then move on and go to Bristol."
