NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Saturday from Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - Qualifying is complete at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series being held this weekend at Orlando Speed World Dragway. After the finals rounds of qualifying, Comp Eliminator driver Glen Treadwell and Super Stock racer Bob Dennis will enter eliminations in the first position.

In Comp Eliminator, Treadwell of Sorrento, Fla., ran a pass of 8.061 seconds to qualify on top. Treadwell qualified in front of David Rampy of Piedmont, Ala., who qualified in the second position.

Dennis of Shorter, Ala., ran a pass of 10.411 seconds to lead the field in Super Stock driving a '95 Achieva. Jerry Silveus qualified in the No. 2 position driving a '05 Cavalier and making a pass of 9.370 seconds.

Stock Eliminator driver, Bruce Noland of Lessburg, Va., qualified in the top spot with a time of 11.108 seconds, while Bill Hawk of Manassas, Va., found the second position running a pass of 10.234 seconds.

Ronnie Davis of Suwanee, Ga., led the field in Top Sportsman with a pass of 6.704 seconds at 210.67 mph. Robert Davis of Boca Raton, Fla., driving a '63 Corvette found the second spot with a time of 6.849 seconds at 205.57 mph.

In Top Dragster, Matt Gilmore of Altamonte Springs, Fla., took the first position driving a '32 Bantam and making a pass of 6.470 seconds at 210.47 mph. Qualifying in the second position was Jeffy Duke Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., making a pass of 6.818 seconds at 196.20 mph.
