Porsche Cars North America Reports February 2007 Sales

ATLANTA--Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, today announced February sales of 1,967 in the United States compared to last year when it sold 2,700, representing a decline of 27 percent.

The decline in Porsche sales for February reflect the very strong and successful sales rundown of its current 2006 Cayenne in preparation for the highly anticipated market launch of its next-generation 2008 Cayenne that goes on sale this Saturday at Porsche dealerships across the country. This February's sales of the supply-constrained 2006 Cayenne totaled 360 versus 917 for the same period last year, a drop of 61 percent.

“The successful sell off of the 2006 Cayenne model sets the table for the retail launch of the new 2008 Cayenne, which has already created a lot of consumer anticipation,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. “We expect a lot of showroom interest in this model which will obviously help boost excitement for our entire line up at Porsche's U.S. dealerships.”

Porsche's sports car sales were again led by the 911, which enjoyed a record-setting February with sales of 1,086 cars sold versus last February when sales were 902, an increase of 20 percent. Boxster/Cayman sales totaled 519 for the month, compared to 2006 with sales of 870.

In addition, dealers sold 454 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, compared to 458 for the same period last year.
