Porsche Cars North America Reports 7 Percent Sales Increase for Canada in February
ATLANTA--Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States and Canada, today announced February sales in Canada of 104 new cars compared to sales of 97 for the same period last year. This represents an increase of 7 percent for the month.
For the first two months of the year, Porsche has sold 223 new cars in 2007, which is 10 percent ahead of 2006's total of 202. Canada's strong results come on the heels of the highly anticipated market launch of the new 2008 Cayenne this Saturday at dealerships across the country. Also notable for February was the continued momentum of the 911 series that recorded sales of 41 for the month, an increase of 58 percent from the same time last year. Boxster/Cayman sales were also strong for the month, with sales of 42, up 5 percent over 2006.
“With the launch of our next-generation Cayenne just days away, we are obviously encouraged by the strong results and successful sales rundown of the remaining 2006 Cayennes,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "This sets the table for the retail launch of the new model and should help boost consumer interest for all new cars.”
In addition, dealers sold 18 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, compared to 20 for the same period last year.
