AAA Show Your Card & Save® Program Saves Members More Than $595 Million in 2006

WASHINGTON--In 2006 AAAs 50 million members used their membership cards to save more money than ever before - over $595 million. AAA members saved on everything from computer repair and shoes to their pets prescription drugs and theme park tickets and much more.

With the Show Your Card & Save® discount program, AAAs 50 million members can save on products and services when they show their card at thousands of locations across the country and throughout the world.

AAA members saved $82 million more than last year, when members saved $513 million by showing their AAA card. Transactions have also practically doubled in the past five years, up from 12.4 million in 2001 to nearly 24.3 million in 2006.

Many AAA members are surprised to learn that their membership card can save them money on more than just a hotel room or a car rental, said Tom Wilt, managing director, AAA Partnership Programs. While expenses continue to rise, this is just one of the ways we help our members save money on the things they consider valuable.

Both local merchants and international brand partners participate in the Show Your Card & Save program. In 2006, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Circuit City and Geek Squad joined a growing list of Show Your Card & Save partners to offer discounts and savings to AAAs 50 million members. Dell joined the program in early 2007.

AAA members can also save when they travel internationally. More than 61 automobile/touring clubs in other countries provide membership card-based savings to AAA members while they are visiting those countries. Participating auto clubs are in Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and most countries in Europe.

To help find valuable discounts for AAA members, log on to www.AAA.com/save and access the Search for Savings tool. The easy-to-use database allows users to search for savings by city, type of merchandise, business name or method of purchase.

As North Americas largest motoring and leisure travel organization, AAA provides more than 50 million members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive-related services. Since its founding in 1902, the not-for-profit, fully tax-paying AAA has been a leader and advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
