4-MAN TEAM DOMINATES "FUN AT FASTIMES"

Saturday's 11th Annual "Fun at Fastimes" three-hour karting enduro in Indianapolis, Ind. turned out to be a runaway for a four-man team who accomplished the feat after asking its team co-captains, USAC drivers Billy Puterbaugh and Kent Christian, to sit out the race!

Completing 389 laps on the twisting indoor two-level course, drivers Andrew Prather, Matt Thompson, Kyle Weigand and A.J. Codalata won the event by a whopping 14 laps over the runner-up team, co-captained by Kris Deckard and Tim Creech.

Each team, under a new rule instituted this year, was required to make nine pit stops and the winners fulfilled that requirement and still emerged with a 14-lap edge! They also managed to break the 23-second lap barrier with a time of 22.948 posted on lap 365, just 24 laps from the checkered flag.

Saturday's biggest winner was the USAC Benevolent Foundation, with nearly $2,500 donated as a result of income from the event.

Brian Gerster and Puterbaugh (who replaced Cole Carter as co-captain) anchored the third-place team, which finished only 4.5 seconds behind the runners-up.

Additional members of the runner-up team were Jimmy Parsons, Scott Bowman, Rex Norris III, Will Nederman, Zach Cougill and Killgo Court. Additional third-place team members were Wes Marvel, Chris Finnigan and Jeff Troyer.

Each member of the winning team received dinners compliments of McAlister's Deli, as well as championship medals. Second and third-place members received medals and all participants received a door prize and a team picture.

Plans for the 2008 event are already underway with the age limit for the 12th Annual "Fun at Fastimes" lowered to 16.
