Lund International Announces Restructuring
SUWANEE, Ga., Feb. 19, 2007 -- Lund International announces additional restructuring plans.
The Company's Trenz Accessories Division in Bakersfield, CA is expected to close by May 15, 2007. Approximately 30 employees produce aluminum grilles for light truck and automotive vehicles. Production is being transferred to the Company's Deflecta-Shield Accessories Division in Howe, IN. Customers will benefit from additional manufacturing capabilities, well established and proven product quality systems, and timely response to customer needs.
Earlier in 2006, the Company relocated two of its warehouse and distribution operations in Lawrenceville, GA, and its corporate offices in Duluth, GA, to a new facility in Suwanee, GA.
In January 2007, the Company announced the closure of its Autotron Accessories Division in Longmont, CO and its administrative offices in Anoka, MN. Production from Longmont, CO will be transferred to the Company's Ventshade Accessories Division in Lawrenceville, GA by May 31, 2007. Staff positions in the Anoka offices are being relocated to the Company's Corporate Center in Suwanee, GA.
When the realignment and consolidation of facilities is completed, the Company will have reduced its facilities from nine to five. These changes will contribute to the continuing viability of Lund International and strengthen its capability to provide superior products and services to its valued customers.
Lund International designs, manufactures and markets a wide variety of appearance products for the automotive aftermarket, including side window deflectors, hood shields, running boards, windshield visors, bed covers, spoilers, toolboxes, cargo management and other accessories. Those products are sold under the brand names AVS(TM), Belmor(R), Deflecta-Shield(R), Lund(R), and Nifty(TM). Headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia, the company has approximately 900 employees.
