NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series-Friday from Bradenton Motorsports Park

NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES - SOUTHEAST DIVISION

BRADENTON, Fla. - The opening day of Bradenton Motorsports Park's NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event is in the books. Drivers in Comp Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street took on the quarter-mile in the first day of qualifying and time trials.

Larry Pritchett of Clarkrange, Tenn., leads the field in Comp Eliminator and Shorter, Ala., racer Bob Dennis set the pace in Super Stock. In Stock Eliminator, Bud Rowe of Bridgeton, N.C., is the day's best qualifier and Charlie Cullotto, Palm City, Fla., heads up the division's Mid-State RV Top Dragster class.

Racing continues Saturday and Sunday at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Gates open at 8 a.m. both days and qualifying and time trials will continue at 9 a.m. Saturday. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will have two qualifying runs on Saturday, at 3 and 6 p.m. Eliminations will start Sunday morning at 9 and Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will run first round at 1 p.m.

Tickets for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event are $20 Saturday and $20 Sunday. Children 11 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
