CRA SPRINTS RETURN TO THE PAS SATURDAY;
STENHOUSE UPSETS "THE COPPER ON DIRT" SPRINT FIELD
Darren Hagen leads the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars back to Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway this Saturday, hoping to repeat his Feb. 3 victory at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.
Hagen finished second to race winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Saturday night's 40-lap "The Copper on Dirt" feature at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz., extending his series point lead over Tony Jones to five points. Jones was fouth at Phoenix.
Stenhouse, of Olive Branch, Miss., earned his initial USAC feature victory at Phoenix by leading the final 25 laps in his South Tire/Final Touch Auto Collision Center J & J/Dynotech. He passed Levi Jones on lap 16 and led the rest of the way to beat Hagen, Damion Gardner, Tony Jones and Mike Spencer. Tracy Hines led the opening lap and Levi Jones led the next 14.
A 30-lap feature caps Saturday night's Perris program. Defending USAC/CRA Sprint Car Champion Cory Kruseman finished ninth at Phoenix.
