Turkish premiere of the new Conecto low-floor from Mercedes-Benz at Busworld Turkey
Stuttgart, Feb 09, 2007 Mercedes-Benz Turk presents its current bus and coach portfolio at the first international bus fair to be held in Turkey, Busworld 2007. As well as a brand new product, the new Conecto low-floor, Travego, Tourismo and Sprinter are on display at the Mercedes-Benz stand in Hall 9. Mercedes-Benz Turk is the undisputed leader of the Turkish bus and coach market. Last year the company was able to increase its market share from 60% to 64% in a coach market, which decreased by 16%. Mercedes-Benz Turk’s lead in the city-bus market with 49% market share is expected to improve even further with the introduction of the new Conecto.
The Mercedes-Benz Conecto low-floor
The Mercedes-Benz Conecto is a new low-floor urban bus designed to open up a new segment for EvoBus GmbH in the markets of Eastern Europe. It is a robust, low-floor vehicle for urban use, it is not only very quiet and extremely manoeuvrable, even in busy city centres, but also available with environment-friendly Euro-3 and Euro-4-compliant engines. It responds to increased passenger expectations with regard to ride comfort and passenger flows while also taking account of the transport operators’ requirement for a economical and reliable vehicle with low-maintenance and repair costs as well as good value retention through high build quality.
The Mercedes-Benz Travego
2 variants of the Mercedes-Benz Travego, manufactured solely for the Turkish market, are on display at Busworld Turkey. The Mercedes-Benz Travego’s line-up for the export markets Aconsists of the high-deck touring coach Travego (max. 15 rows of seats. 12.14 m long, two axles), the Travego M (max. 16 rows of seats, 12.96 m long, three axles) and the Travego L (max. 17 rows of seats, 13.99 m long, three axles). The overall height of all three variants is 3.71 m. The Travego remains a very popular coach among Turkish and international operators.
The Mercedes-Benz Tourismo
The legendary Tourismo is also part of the exhibition. This vehicle has been produced by Mercedes-Benz Turk for almost 13 years. A total worldwide sales of 13.000 units during this time is the proof of its overwhelming success.
