New Ford Chief's First Auto Show Keynote Set for NY

NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2007 -- Alan Mulally, president and chief executive officer of Ford Motor Company since September 2006, will deliver his first auto show keynote at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. Mulally's remarks will be the main event at the Show's opening press breakfast, which is co-hosted by the International Motor Press Association on Wednesday, April 4, 2007.
Prior to joining Ford, Mulally served as executive vice president of The Boeing Company, and president and chief executive officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. In that role, he was responsible for all of the company's commercial airplane programs and related services. Mulally also was a member of the Boeing Executive Council and served as Boeing's senior executive in the Pacific Northwest.
Throughout his career, Mulally has been recognized for his contributions and industry leadership, including being named one of "The Best Leaders of 2005" by BusinessWeek magazine for streamlining Boeing's production system and transforming the company's commercial airplanes product line.
Mulally serves as co-chair of the Washington Competitiveness Council, and sits on the advisory boards of NASA, the University of Washington, the University of Kansas, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the U.S. Air Force Scientific Advisory Board. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Engineering and a fellow of England's Royal Academy of Engineering.
Kicking off the springtime selling season, the 2007 New York International Auto Show will feature an impressive collection of cutting-edge design and remarkable innovation. More than four floors of displays from the world's automakers will feature the newest vehicles and futuristic concept cars. More than 1,000 cars and trucks will be on display at the Javits Center, filling 846,000 square feet of exhibit space.
