Subaru Southwest Region Sales Off to Record Start
-- Region posts best January sales; leads the nation in Impreza WRX and STI sales --
AURORA, Colo., Feb. 7 -- Subaru of America, Inc. reported January sales totaling 12,074 total units. The Subaru Southwest Region contributed a record month with 1,607 units, up four percent over the same period last year.

"We are off to a great start this year with record January sales for the region," said Anthony Graziano, regional vice president, Subaru Southwest Region, Subaru of America, Inc. "Our dealers are doing a tremendous job communicating the brand attributes of safety, value, reliability and fun that are attracting new customers to the Subaru brand like never before. In fact, the conquest rate for the brand is now at a high of 60 percent."
Subaru Southwest Region Sales Highlights
The Subaru Southwest Region posted a 17 percent increase in Legacy and Outback sales over January 2006 with model line sales totaling 633 units. The region led the nation in Impreza WRX and STI sales posting a nearly 11 percent gain from the same period in 2006. Five of the top ten Subaru dealers in January were from the region, the state of Colorado specifically, including: Heuberger Subaru in Colorado Springs ranked first in the country selling 110 units for the month; Burt Subaru of Englewood ranked a close second with 100 sales in January; Shortline Subaru of Aurora, Flatirons Subaru of Boulder and Mike Shaw Subaru of Thornton ranked sixth, seventh and ninth in the nation respectively for the month.
Total U.S. Subaru Sales by Model Line
Subaru B9 Tribeca posted 1,125 units for the month. Subaru Legacy recorded a 10 percent gain with unit sales of 5,257, while the Outback accounted for 3,880 units of that line for the month. Subaru Forester recorded 2,739 units in January, while Baja posted 268 units for the month. Subaru Impreza was up five percent from the same period last year, posting a strong 2,685 units in January.
