Suzuki Motor to Release V-type 6-Cylinder Engine Outboard Motor

Tokyo, Feb 5, 2007; Suzuki Motor Corporation released the DF300-a four-stroke, V-type, six-cylinder engine outboard motor. The motor can be mounted on sport fishing ships and high-speed cruisers and has counter-rotation setups for mounting two engines. The DF300 is the first four-stroke outboard motor to achieve 300 horsepower.

Suzuki's fuel injector and variable valve timing mechanism (VVT) are used for reliable throttle and gear control. Suzuki's original offset drive shaft allows it to be used in smaller craft as well.

The DF300 meets exhaust gas emission criteria of both the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Japan Boating Industry Association.

The DF300 series will be available from the beginning of February 2007 and priced at around 2.8 million yen.
