AIAG Board Announces New Chair and Vice-Chair for 2007
DETROIT, Feb. 6, 2007 -- The board of directors of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) announced that Brian L. Vautaw of Lear Corp. is the association's new chairman of the board, and Rich Spivey of Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. is its new vice-chairman effective Jan. 1, 2007.

AIAG's board represents a cross-section of member companies from automakers, truck manufacturers and suppliers. The board provides strategic direction and oversees AIAG's collaborative efforts to enhance the global automotive supply chain, including initiatives in early warning standards, health & human services, materials management, quality, regulatory issues, systems integration and truck & heavy equipment.
A board member since 2002, Vautaw serves on the Inventory Visibility and Interoperability (IV&I) Oversight Committee and Electronic Commerce Steering Committee. He is vice president of information technology at Lear, having IT responsibilities for the company's product-focused and regional divisions.
Spivey joined the board in 2003 and serves on the Global Working Conditions Training Work Group. He is manager, North American purchasing planning for Honda. His responsibilities include coordination of the company's purchasing division's business plan, the development of strategic direction for complex purchasing issues, and oversight for the development and administration of IT systems for the purchasing division and Honda suppliers in North America.
