Smartcool's ESM(TM) technology continues to provide solutions in UK market place
VANCOUVER, Jan. 31, 2007 -- Smartcool Systems Inc. (TSXV: SSC), is pleased to report the successful testing and subsequent implementation of the ESM 4000(TM) by Carclo Technical Plastics ("CTP"), a division of Carclo PLC, in their Surrey, England facility.
Smartcool's UK distributor, Smartcool Systems (UK) Ltd. approached CTP regarding the ESM(TM) technology and how the application could provide them with an energy saving solution for their refrigeration and air-conditioning needs. Upon testing, the ESM(TM) provided a reduction in usage of kilo watt hours (kWh) of 30% which equates to annual CO2 reduction of 117,180 Kg or saving enough energy to power 90 homes annually.
Upon completion of testing, Peter Callistan, Group Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for CTP stated, "In the business that we are in, and with the ever increasing costs of energy, we are always looking at ways to reduce the amount of energy that we use. Smartcool has provided us with a product that significantly reduces the kWh consumption used by our process chillers and more importantly, all this is achieved without any detrimental effect to our plant, operations and processes. We are now rolling the Energy Saving Module(TM) out into other sites and elements of our business."

About SMARTCOOL(TM):
Smartcool Systems Inc. is an advanced energy savings solutions company that specializes in energy and cost reduction technologies for commercial and retail businesses. The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Smartcool International Inc., is the owner, developer, manufacturer and worldwide distributor of the System 4000 Energy Saving Module (ESM(TM)). This green technology reduces the electricity consumption (kWh) and maximum demand (KW) of air conditioning and refrigeration compressors. Rather than replacing existing equipment, the ESM(TM) works in conjunction with existing controls in order to ensure that compressors work at maximum efficiency, while maintaining preset temperature levels and without causing over-cycling.
Rising global energy demand is resulting in significant increases in energy prices. Environmental concerns are causing both government and industry to re-examine the way they do business. Smartcool provides companies with solutions to address the growing pressure to reduce energy costs, increase profits and reduce green house gas emissions.
