Dollar and Thrifty Expand Pass24(TM) Prepaid Toll System to Houston

TULSA, Okla., Jan. 30, 2007 -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. , the parent company of Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental, today announced the expansion of Rent A Toll Pass24 prepaid toll service to the Houston market. Dollar and Thrifty already offer the Pass24 service in Dallas.

"After a successful launch in Dallas during September 2006, we are excited to bring the convenience of Pass24 to our customers traveling the 83 miles of toll roads in the metropolitan Houston area," said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president of corporate operations for Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. "The prepaid toll collection presents a great time-saving option for our customers. All toll charges are included in the $8.95 per day fee which eliminates the hassle of reconciling separate charges to their credit card after the car is returned."

Pass24 is available at five convenient Dollar Rent A Car and nine Thrifty Car Rental locations in the Houston area, including George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Houston Hobby Airport (HOU) for $8.95 per day, which for added convenience, is added to the rental agreement. Customers who want to utilize Pass24 should request it at the rental counter.

Pass24 allows drivers to use the express lanes, bypassing the crowded cash lanes and eliminates the need to carry exact change and can be used with any class of vehicle. Collection of tolls is tied to vehicle license plates and no electronic device is required. Video technology is used to capture images of the rental car as it passes through the toll facilities.

"We are thrilled that Dollar Thrifty is expanding Pass24 prepaid toll service to the Houston market," says Rick Welch, President and COO of Rent A Toll. "Our strong results in Dallas validate the key benefits of the Pass24 prepaid toll solution: time saver by using toll express lanes, unlimited tolls per day, and toll charges included on the rental receipt for easy expense management. We are now aggressively seeking to expand our solution to additional U.S. toll markets."

Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) roads are: Sam Houston Tollway, Hardy Toll Road, Westpark Tollway, Fort Bend Parkway, and the Sam Houston Ship Channel Bridge. Information about HCTRA toll roads can be found at http://www.hctra.com/ .
