Mike Ryan Going For Seventh Record at Pikes Peak Hill Climb

North Hollywood, California- 2006 proved to be a very exciting year for Mike Ryan Motorsports. The 2006 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb had over 4500 spectators in attendance. Mike set his 6th world record, beating last year’s by 3 seconds with a finishing time of 12.43.66 and claiming victory over four time New Zealand B Class Truck racing champion, Shane Chapman.

The Outdoor Channel broadcast of the Hill Climb included approximately 26.6-cable and DBS subscribers and is available to 74.7 households. The race aired a total of four dates with the first broadcast being a free weekend for Direct TV subscribers. In addition, the race truck was profiled on The Travel Channel’s “Outrageous Trucks” and The History Channel’s “Modern Marvels: Mountain Roads”. The 2007 Hill Climb will once again receive national television coverage with details to be announced soon.

Ryan’s race truck also appeared in the video game market. Colin McRae Rally for Playstation 2 will also be released in early 2007. This game is for the die-hard rally-racing fan. With numerous tracks to choose from the racing is very realistic. Cars and trucks handle like real vehicles, meaning if you turn too sharp you may lose control of the vehicle.

Mike will once again be showing off his Freightliner Century ClassÒ S/ TÔ race truck at several Truck and Trade Shows in 2007 including: World Ag Expo in Tulare, CA, Mid America Truck Show in Louisville, KY, Truck Show Las Vegas, Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, The Truck Show Latino in Pomona, CA and SEMA.

The 85th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be held on Saturday, July 21st, 2007. Mike will be attempting record number seven in 07! This will be the tenth consecutive year competing in the big rig class. www.ppihc.com
