NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Nissan is revving things up in 2007 as it drives in to the remaining North American cities of the SHIFT_2Nissan tour. Music meets the road with performances by national recording artists Jody Raffoul, Jessica Andrews and Jeff Austin Black while their fans get to experience all-new 2007 Nissan vehicles. The final stops on the 2007 leg of the tour have been announced: February 10–11 (Los Angeles/Arcadia) and February 17–18 (Los Angeles/Irvine, CA); February 24–25 (San Francisco, CA); March 3–4 (Phoenix, AZ); March 10–11 (Dallas, TX); March 17–18 (Ft. Lauderdale, FL); March 24–25 (Marietta, GA) and March 31–April 1 (Atlanta, GA).
Nissan’s next generation of vehicles will allow car lovers to experience it first-hand during the SHIFT_2Nissan tour – Smarter technology. Innovative amenities. Performance that leaves you breathless. The free weekend event is highlighted by the opportunity for drivers to shift gears behind the wheel of the all-new 2007 Nissan Altima, Sentra, Versa and other Nissan vehicles—including the 2007 Z-350, Maxima, Xterra and Murano – on an exciting, interactive course designed to bring out the competitive nature of participants. Opening the door to any 2007 Nissan vehicle, drivers will be pleased to see each vehicle is loaded with the latest available technology, including Xtronic CVT shiftless transmission, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, Intelligent Key for keyless entry push-button ignition and an audio system that allows you to plug in an iPod or other media player for a more personalized music selection. Guests can conquer the track Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Days leading up to the free weekend events, fans should keep their eyes on the roads for the SHIFT_2Nissan team members. As an added bonus, all guests who obtain SHIFT_2Nissan passes—distributed at select locations throughout the cities by team members and on-site at each venue—can register for a chance to win a one-year lease on an all-new 2007 Nissan Sentra. Guests can also register at www.shift2nissan.com for a chance to win a one-year lease on an all-new 2007 Nissan Sentra. The winner of the one-year lease will be chosen and notified at the end of the SHIFT_2Nissan tour in 2007. Two lucky guests in each city may also walk away with a Pioneer Inno, the latest in portable satellite radio with MP3 capabilities by XM Radio.
The ride accelerates during the SHIFT_2Nissan tour when national recording artists Jody Raffoul, Jessica Andrews and Jeff Austin Black fuel the event with live performances on Saturday and Sunday evenings. Before the headliners take the stage, each stop on the tour also showcases a local musical flair as eight local bands—chosen through online submissions and voting before the tour begins in each city – compete in the SHIFT_2Nissan Battle of the Bands competition. All eight bands from each city may also have the opportunity to have their music heard on XM Satellite Radio. Two bands from each city will then proceed to the finals round where one band is ultimately chosen the Battle of the Bands Champion when the tour culminates in April 2007.
Hosted by DJ Xclusive from XM Satellite Radio, the music kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays with the Battle of the Bands competition (2 p.m.–4 p.m.) followed by performances from the national headliners (4 p.m.–6 p.m.).
