CHARLOTTE, N.C.--The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) today announced Juan Pablo Montoya will drive the No. 42 Wrigley’s Big Red® Dodge for the first time in the 2007 NEXTEL Cup race held July 15 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. The company also revealed the paint schemes for Reed Sorenson and David Stremme’s No. 41 Dodge as part of Wrigley’s sponsorship for the first 25 Busch Series races.
“We’re thrilled that Juan Pablo’s first race in the No. 42 Wrigley’s Big Red® Dodge will be right in our backyard, just south of our downtown Chicago headquarters,” said Paul Chibe, Vice President of U.S. Marketing. “As the race for the Cup heats up throughout the summer, the Chicagoland race is the perfect stage for Wrigley’s racing debut.”
As part of today’s stop at CGRFS during the Charlotte preseason media tour, the team also unveiled the No. 41 Wrigley’s Dodge, which will feature a signature Juicy Fruit yellow paint scheme when Sorenson is behind the wheel and a cool, crisp Winterfresh blue paint scheme for Stremme’s races.
“Reed and David are two of NASCAR’s promising young drivers, so having them behind the wheel of the Juicy Fruit® and Winterfresh® cars is a tremendous asset in reaching the millions of fans that follow NASCAR each week,” added Chibe. “The distinctive yellow and blue paint schemes should make it easy for fans to find the No. 41 Wrigley’s Dodge on the track and we hope the other drivers get a good glimpse of them as Reed and David head for Victory Lane.”
