36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Auction Shatters Attendance and Sales Records During First Three Days
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--In only the first three days of the 36th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Action, more than 100,000 spectators have passed through the gates at WestWorld. Record-breaking auction sales have reached nearly $16 million, crushing the numbers posted in the first three days of the 2006 auction.
“Typically, the final four days of the event draw the biggest crowds,” said Craig Jackson, CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, LLC. “By continuing to add exciting new elements to our events, we broaden our audience and attract more spectators each year.”
This year’s car sales total approximately $15 million, including buyer premiums, up 28 percent from this point in the 2006 auction. Rock memorabilia has generated more than $700,000 in sales during the first two segments of Rock on the Block™ which occurred on Monday, January 15 during Family Value Day and Wednesday, January 17, along with the Von Dutch Collection auction in The Garage.

The hammer has dropped already on hundreds of collector cars, with highlights including:
- Lot #99 – 1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback – $192,000
- Lot #438 – 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible – $165,000
- Lot #390 – 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427/425 Convertible – $143,000
- Lot #96 – 1961 Chrysler 300G Convertible – $140,800
