Honda To Build 2nd Car Factory in India
TOKYO January 15, 2007; Japan Today reported that Honda Motor Co said Monday its subsidiary Honda Siel Cars India Ltd will build its second passenger car plant in the South Asian country at a cost of 18-24 billion yen in response to burgeoning growth in local demand.
The new facility, to be located in the state of Rajasthan in northwestern India, will be capable of turning out 50,000 passenger cars a year and is slated to come onstream by mid-2009, company officials said.
