Reynolds and Reynolds Marks Successful First Year as Endorsed Integrated DMS Provider for GM Dealers;
More than 230 General Motors Stores Already Signed;
Reynolds also Sole DMS Provider for Saturn Retailers in U.S.
DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 15 -- The Reynolds and Reynolds Company announced today that more than 230 GM stores in North America have signed to install the Integrated Dealer Management System (IDMS) from Reynolds.
GM originally announced its selection of Reynolds in January 2006 as the first endorsed IDMS provider to GM Dealers in the U.S. and Canada, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac and SAAB brands. GM also selected Reynolds as the sole IDMS provider for the more than 440 Saturn retailers in the United States.
"It's business as usual -- only better," said Reynolds Vice Chairman Finbarr O'Neill, referring to the GM business and the added strength of Reynolds and Reynolds following the merger with Universal Computer Systems in October 2006. "In the past year, we've gained traction, momentum, and the trust of GM dealers for IDMS. We are proud to have led the way in the first year of this initiative for GM."
The Integrated Dealer Management System for GM is built on core DMS software from Reynolds and includes applications such as Contact Management, Advanced Reporting, F&I Menus, Service Price Guides, and Mobile Service Advisor, plus tailored training and dedicated technical support. "It is an all-in-one, integrated DMS to make it easier for GM dealers to do business with GM," O'Neill said, "and easier for dealers to eliminate work at their dealership that doesn't help the business."
Reynolds Chairman Bob Brockman added, "Our focus is on delivering software and services that do the best possible job in helping our dealership customers maximize their sales and profits and improve how they do business. GM IDMS is one more example of that in the marketplace."
Bob Frahm Chevrolet Buick Pontiac in Albion, Michigan, moved to GM IDMS in mid-2006. Sandi Pfeffer, controller at the dealership, said, "The GM IDMS package from Reynolds was very attractive -- it had everything we needed. From the new CRM tools to the Advanced Reporting features and the dedicated technical support, our teams have the tools needed to do their jobs and take care of customers.
"For dealers, GM's decision to endorse IDMS takes the fear out of technology decision-making. For dealers considering GM IDMS from Reynolds, our move to the package was a smooth experience. Reynolds seamlessly migrated our dealership and everyone was there to support us in the transition, from the installers to the trainers," she added.
Marty Raymond, GM director of Global Retail Programs, said, "Our dealers are seeing the vision and the benefits of GM IDMS. It truly is a comprehensive system, backed by dedicated levels of service and support, which is key. We are very pleased with the adoption of the IDMS solution and the confidence that dealers have voiced in the endorsement."
Thus far, Reynolds has exceeded GM and dealer expectations for the pace of implementation and seamless migration to IDMS.
Cathy Orrico, Reynolds vice president for OEM Solutions, concluded, "Every day at Reynolds, we remember who's boss: It's our customers. Our goal is to provide them with dealership solutions that advance their business and make them more successful. GM IDMS from Reynolds affords GM dealerships of all sizes the same opportunity to gain an advantage for their business that they may not have been able to achieve without the complete IDMS package from Reynolds."
Separately, Rick Griskie, Reynolds vice president of Operations, indicated the company is meeting or exceeding all software development milestones as the single provider of IDMS for Saturn retailers in the U.S. For GM dealers who also operate a Saturn franchise, the IDMS from Reynolds is the only system that will provide an integrated, holistic view of the entire dealership enterprise.
