Phoenix Motorcars’ Zero Emission Electric Sport Utility Truck Makes Surprise Appearance on New Ed Begley TV Series, ''Living With Ed''
ONTARIO, Calif.--Ed Begley Jr., actor of film, TV and theater best known for his recent TV appearances on Boston Legal, Veronica Mars and Six Feet Under, will be seen driving and praising the virtues of the new Phoenix Motorcars zero-emission, all-electric sport utility truck on this Sunday’s episode of Begley’s new docu-soap, Living With Ed on HGTV.
According to the HGTV website, the episode is called Jay and the Big House:
“Ed takes an interesting assignment and speaks to his counterparts — muscle car fans — about the future of electric cars. Speaking of muscle cars, he then stops by Jay Leno's garage. While they check out Jay's collection of old and new cars that run on alternative energy, unbeknownst to Ed, Rachelle checks out a spacious new (and not solar-powered!) house for sale.”
The episode airs this Sunday, January 14 at 10 p.m. EST/PST on HGTV.
“Ed Begley Jr. has been driving electric automobiles for over 20 years. He has an incredible knowledge base about them," says Dan Elliott, CEO of Phoenix Motorcars. “We hope to announce an expanded working relationship with him in the very near future.”
The Phoenix Motorcars sport utility truck can cruise on the freeway at up to 95 m.p.h. while carrying five passengers and a full payload, a capability that has caught the attention of fleet dealers, consumers, Hollywood and the media. It exceeds all specifications for a Type III ZEV and has a driving range of 130 miles. It uses Altairnano's NanoSafe™ battery, which can be recharged in less than 10 minutes and has a life-span of 12 years or more. Phoenix Motorcars will introduce a SUV model in late 2007. A limited number of vehicles will be available to consumers in 2007 with an expanded-consumer launch scheduled for 2008.
