Freescale Honored by General Motors at North American International Auto Show

AUSTIN, Texas--Freescale Semiconductor, a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors, was honored by General Motors for overall excellence in supporting GMs product efforts. GM announced the honor during ceremonies on Thursday, Jan. 11, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Mich.

GM strives to build the best cars and trucks in the world, and the leadership and employees of Freescale represent what it takes to make GMs products successful, said Bo Andersson, GM vice president, global purchasing and supply chain. We honor these companies at the North American International Auto Show to remind the industry and the public of the critical role our suppliers play in developing GM vehicles globally.

"This award shows that GM values our companies strategic relationship, which fosters industry-changing innovation for automotive consumers around the world.

This is the sixth year GM has honored suppliers at the North American International Auto Show. The supplier awards recognize a suppliers performance in quality, cost and delivery, as well as contributions to production and concept vehicles GM unveils at the NAIAS. Freescale is the only semiconductor company to receive this GM supplier recognition during the NAIAS.
